Hello everyone! Last week our team worked on individual sketches, and that’s what we got!
I (Sofia) came up with two versions of a board game for a large Chinese family, which has difficulties in communicating and sharing household responsibilities, and I also had the idea of creating an organizer board for the family! I will describe each of my ideas in more detail.
Board game “Family Treasure”
Game description: “Family Treasure” is a board game specially designed for large Chinese families to improve communication and strengthen bonds between different generations.
Game components:
- Game board depicting the family home and its surroundings.
- Cards with questions and tasks covering various aspects of Chinese culture, tradition, history and family values.
- Character chips representing each family member.
- “Family Treasures” cards, which are valuable items or artifacts related to the history and traditions of the family.
Rules of the game: - Each participant selects a character piece and places it at the starting position on the playing field.
- Players take turns rolling the dice and moving their piece across the playing field.
- When a player lands on a new square, he takes a card with a question or task related to Chinese culture or family and answers it or completes the task.
- Answering questions and completing assignments promotes discussion and exchange among family members. This allows each generation to share their knowledge, experiences and stories.
- If the player successfully completes the task or gives the correct answer, he receives one of the “Family Treasures”. The goal of the game is to collect as many treasures as possible.
- The game continues until a certain number of treasures are reached or until the finish line on the playing field.
- Upon completion of the game, players can share their impressions, discuss new knowledge and memories that arose during the game.
The goal of Family Treasure is to create a fun and interactive atmosphere for the large Chinese family, where each member has the opportunity to express themselves, learn something new about their family and Chinese culture, and strengthen bonds and communication between different generations.
Board game “Family Tree: Chinese Connection”
Description of the game:
“Family Tree: Chinese Connection” is a board game specially designed for a large Chinese family that has problems communicating with each other. The goal of the game is to strengthen ties and improve communication between different generations in the family, using the family tree as a basis.
Components of the game:
- A playing field depicting a family tree and connections between different generations.
- Cards with questions and tasks that stimulate discussion and exchange of views.
- Character chips representing each family member.
- Cards “Family events”, which represent various events and important moments in the life of the family.
Rules of the game:
- Each participant selects a character chip and puts it in the starting position on the playing field.
- Players take turns moving their chip around the playing field, making moves in accordance with the instructions on the cards.
- The cards contain questions about the family history, traditions, values and personal stories of each family member. Players answer questions and discuss their answers.
- Players can also perform tasks that require cooperation and communication between different generations. For example, solve puzzles together or present scenes related to family events.
- As you progress through the playing field, players will open “Family Events”. These are the moments that offer discussion and memories of past events in the family.
- The game continues until the finish on the playing field is reached. At the end of the game, players can discuss their experiences, new knowledge and strengthened connections.
The goal of the game “Family Tree: Chinese Connection” is to strengthen ties and improve communication between different generations in the Chinese family. The game promotes the exchange of stories, memories and views on life, as well as creates an atmosphere of mutual understanding and cooperation.
One of the products that can help solve the problem of lack of time for communication and interaction with the family, as well as the problem of conflicts due to the sharing of responsibilities is the family organizer and planner.
This product is a physical board (for those who have difficulties in using mobile phones and who find it more convenient to use such an organizer on the big screen) and a mobile application (for those who use a mobile phone most often). This product has various features that will help family members manage their time, plan joint events and everyday life and keep up to date with up-to-date information about all family affairs.
Here are some features and capabilities of such a family organizer:
- Family calendar: The ability to create a common calendar for the whole family, where each member can add their responsibilities, meetings, holidays or other events. This will help to synchronize schedules and avoid conflicts.

Interactive chronological tree.
Thanks to this tree, three generations can gather once a week (as you agree) and discuss about ancestors, the older generation will tell the younger about family members, and if all three generations do not know about all the ancestors, they can begin to study and investigate together, so most strengthening and spending time with the whole family
