Brazilian Beaches
Overview
In Brazil, beaches are present in many cities and are touristic points that attract a lot of people for their natural beauty. Many people separate some vacation days to visit the beach and rest from routine while they enjoy the “Tropical Brazilian Visual”. There are a lot of options to have fun when we’re on a Brazilian beach, such as practicing sports, enjoying a snack/drink, fishing, riding a jetski/boat, having a sunbath and of course, bathing in the sea. For us, this is a perfect fun and relaxing moment to bring family or friends together, or even to enjoy your own company in peace.

User Journey
Waking up in a beautiful sunny day and excited to get ready to hang out on the beach, we separete essential items, like sunblock, swimsuit, towel, beache yoke, beach chair, sun glasses, hat and a snack. On the beach we spread the towel, preferably in the shade of an umbrella and get ready to take a sun bath and get in the water. As activities, we can practice a sport like frescoball, voleyball or soccer, we can also take a good book to read, or just have fun with a walk in sea shore e socialize with friends, enjoy good music with the bluetooth speaker, have the snacks with some drinks we brought with the cooler, and we have option to buy a popsicle, churros or corn.

The problem
Although swimming in the sea is undoubtedly the most popular activity to do while enjoying the beach, many tourists face an unfortunately common issue. When not in a bigger group, in which some people can stay in the sand while the others swim, swimmers take a risk of having their belongings stolen while they’re in the water. This issue is usually solved by asking a neighboring tourist to take care of your things while you swim, but this ends up being not always effective, since the one you trusted your belongings to may leave your personal objects unwatched or even steal them themselves.
What do they think?
- I’ll have to keep an eye on my things from the water and not swim far from the shore or trust a total stranger with all my precious belongings.
What should they think?
- I’ll swim wherever and as much as I want and without worrying about my things in the sand!

Personas
As it is freely accessible, the beach is a very democratic environment and is frequented by different groups and styles of people. Therefore, we can imagine three main personas present on it:

- Rafael, 25 years old
- Porto Alegre – RS
- University Student
- Single
- Monthly income: internship (R$1.000) + allowance
- Hobbies: discovering new places | hanging out with his friends | Practicing collective sports
- Rafael loves traveling and spending some quality time with his friends, so he enjoys spending his vacations and holidays on the beach with them, where they get together to drink, listen to loud music and have fun while they play some game, like volleyball.

Second persona:
- Ana, 35 years old
- Florianópolis – SC
- Head in the Marketing area

- Hobbies: Yoga | Cooking| Reading
- Ana is very communicative, she’s always aware of the new trends and has her life well planned, but despite working from home, her work routine is extremely intense, and for that reason she needs to disconnect and take some time to enjoy her own company. Therefore, Ana enjoys the weekends spending some hours on the beach by herself, when she can meditate, rest and clean her mind.

Third persona:

Marcos has a heavy work routine and spends many hours on traffic everyday between his city house and his work. He and his wife have a house on the beach 5 hours away from the capital, but attend it during the year it’s practically impossible due the family’s routine. For that reason, they and their children usually make this trip once a year during the school vacations. For Marcos’s family, going to the beach is like an end of year tradition and they usually get there in the afternoon, have lunch on a beach kiosk and go away only after enjoying the sunset together.

Entregas
Product descriptions of the main features, and how the ideas arrived (and discarded ideas), technical specifications of the material, a technical drawing with measurements in A3 format and a functional drawing (A3) of how the interaction with the product works and how the customer interacts with it, a 3D model would be very welcome too.

We’re expecting a solution that
- Keeps someone’s belongings safe while they’re swimming in the sea
- Is discreet so that no person with malicious intent may find it suspicious and take it
- It’s convenient to take to the beach, not taking much space nor being too heavy
- Cannot be easily taken or violated by a thief

Hi! I have a question about the personas. Were you instructed to create them as elders? We were specifically instructed to use elderly individuals as our persona group.
