Back ground: Older people in Russia have trouble in walk around. They need new equipment to fulfill their needs, to up grade the walking equipment, to ease their pain while they are stroll. Also, in Russia, it is very sllipery in winter, so we need more special/more antiskid materials for the stick. Design concept: This is an easy but interesting one. For older people to walk in the night, i add the light at the front of the stick handle. You can open or close the light by clicking the button on the back. This one can't be longer or shorter whenever you want, but it's harder, more stable and cheaper for the main part of the sticks. I add a special function for the stick--this is the interesting part--- the user can hold the button on the handle to open the clamp at the bottom. The bottom of the stick will seperate, become a clamp so the older people can use it to get anything they drop instead of bend down to reach them. It's convenient for people with poor lumbar vertebrae. Unlike my other two conceptions, this stick's joint is unable to spin. Also, a small question: would you guys like to add some Russian traditional patterns instead of simple colors? If so, what's your traditional pattern? I'll be very happy to hear your opinions!

Also, in Russia, it is very sllipery in winter, so we need more special/more antiskid materials for the stick. Design concept: According to research, using trekking poles while walking can reduce the force placed on muscle joints such as the legs and knees by at least 22%, making the legs feel more comfortable. Using two trekking poles at the same time provides better balance. After knowing this, i decided to design a walking stick that is designed based on trekking poles. I make the handle of the stick in trekking pole's way, to make the wrist feel less pressure. Also i add a soft materials under the handle. it can hold the hand, so the user wont feel pain on her/he side of the hands. I use the same material as trekking poles. This will give the older people more power and less pressure on the leg. The joint is able to spin, still, it can fit all different slope angles. The main part of the stick is also retractable, it can fit any height. I add special equipment inside the joint so it will lock when the joint spin to some specific angle. So you dont need to worry about it will "spin around" The bottom of the stick have antiskid tips to avoid the problems that the slippery ground may cause. I'll be very happy to hear your opinions!
Hi! This is my concept2 for Team7’s design brief.
Back ground: Older people in Russia have trouble in walk around. They need new equipment to fulfill their needs, to up grade the walking equipment, to ease their pain while they are stroll. Also, in Russia, it is very sllipery in winter, so we need more special/more antiskid materials for the stick. Design concept: I think of a special stick that looks normal--just like other walking sticks, but it has so many different things in it. I make it can easily change the antiskid materials at the bottom of the stick( because it not always ice on the ground, sometimes people just need the normal antiskid function, so i want it can change the "antiskid levels" whenever you want.) What's more, i made it can fit any different slope angle on the ground so that when older people walk the slope it won't bother them anymore. The main part of the stick is retractable. So we dont need to worried about the height problem, or bought the wrong height of stick. It can always fill your need. I want this stick use the light and soft plastic materials so the old people can easily carry them around, but also not to break down easily. This is a improved new walking stick for older people. I'll be very happy to hear your opinions!
