Logbook

The meeting with the “Team 10: out of ten” from the Turkish university was an extraordinary opportunity that allowed us to explore and discover numerous points of convergence between the Southern Italian culture and the Turkish one. This meeting revealed a deep affinity between our cultures, highlighting important issues that both communities share.

Within the context of our culture, our Turkish colleagues showed a great interest in the “Southern question,” delving further into the existing gap within a nation that, although seemingly united, is marked by numerous divisions and inequalities. These comparisons brought to light common aspects that affect both communities, such as the lack of adequate information infrastructure and a socio-political system that appears to inadequately protect the most vulnerable, significantly deviating from the ideal of a Leviathan state, as theorized by Hobbes, which binds all its citizens in a supportive chain, overturning the rule of “homo homini lupus.”

In this context, the meeting was highly productive as we identified a convergence of shared objectives. Our collaboration aims to combat and improve this problematic system, leveraging the synergistic disciplines of psychology and design. This synergy holds the promise of being a valuable tool to address the common challenges both communities face and promote positive changes in society. We are excited to embark on this collaborative journey, which will allow us to join forces to make a meaningful impact in promoting change and progress.
