You will commission a design team to provide you with a design proposal for an item (physical, or combination of physical and digital) which either promotes and/or celebrates a specific local practice(s) with focus on the broad theme of Celebrating the Daily… You will need to select specific family members, such as your parents or aunts or uncles, who will form the intended “users” for the proposed designs. To develop the brief you will need to prepare material, such as storyboards or short movies, which will help your design team to become familiar with your selected users’ day to day local practices. You, as the cultural expert on your selected users’ practices will need to analyse these practices in order to guide the designers and to evaluate their progress.
After you receive the design proposal from your design team, you as the client will be responsible for constructing a physical model/prototype/mock-up. It will be based on the design proposal developed by your designers and guided by your own brief and weekly feedback. Therefore, throughout the process as clients you will need to provide careful feedback and guidance to your designers. You will also be required to produce a maximum 60-second promotional video for the item and 2 boards (A2 size) providing feedback for your design collaborators.
