After you login in your account, please update your Profile (NOTE: I am using someone else NAME and TEAM as an example, so apply it to your specific PROFILE and your specific TEAM): Click in the right top of the page, where said " Hi, XXX " and click in edit profile. Alternatively follow this link https://theglobalstudio.net/2023/wp-admin/profile.php Note your Username. The reason is, that it is recommended that when you are selecting your Nickname (point 6) and your Display name (point 7) the both should be different from your Username. This reduces the possibility of your account to be hacked. Fill your First Name Fill your Last NameNOTE: in the brackets, you can include your team's number such as Team 08. That way you will be able to select your Display name which besides your name will also indicate your team's number, for example: Aglaya Baranova [Team 08]. If you like you can also include the Cyrillic script with your Last names, thus your Display name can be shown as: Aglaya Baranova Аглая Баранова [Team 08] Change your Nickname so that it is different from the Username From the drop-down menu, select your Display name -- this will be associated with your post and comments, so please select something that others understand who you are

In your role as the Client, you will commission a Design team, located in different country, to provide your client team with design proposals for an item (physical, or combination of physical and digital, or physical and digital service) which either promotes and/or celebrates a specific local practice(s) with focus on the broad theme of Celebrating the Daily Joys of Life. You will need to select specific family members, such as your grandparents, parents or aunts or uncles, who will form the intended “users” for the proposed designs. To develop the Client Design Project Brief, you will need to prepare information, such as visual storyboards or short movies, which will help your paired Design team to become familiar with your selected users' day to day local practices.  In the Client role, you, as the cultural experts on your selected users’ practices will need to research and analyse these practices to guide and evaluate the Design team’s progress. Based on your client's design project brief and you as Clients will provide weekly feedback on received design proposals developed by your paired Design team. Therefore, throughout the process as the Clients you will need to provide useful and critical feedback and guidance for your paired Design teams. Toward the end of project you as Clients will test the provided developed design solutions with your selected user.

Activity 1) Prepare a brief profile about yourself with photos that should cover the following points: Your name; What are you studying? (Can you share some photos of your university?); Hobbies (You can share some photos); Future plans; Your contact details (e.g. email, mobile number and which social media you are using such as WhatsApp, WeChat, Signal, Telegram, Line, Kakao Talk) In your introduction, indicate what university you are attending and in what degree you are enrolled. Where is the university located? Share briefly about your favourite project (class) and include a couple of images from the project and indicate why was it your favourite project (class). If you have an online portfolio, please share the link. Outline what are your expectations from participating in the Global Studio project. Then say something about your hobbies and things you enjoy doing? What city do you consider to be your home town? Can you share any photos of pets which you or your parents have? What is your favourite place in the town that only locals would know about? And lastly, include contact details like your email and social app contact like phone number associated with your account like Telegram, and/or WhatsApp, and/or Discord, and/or Signal, and/or Viber, and/or KakaoTalk, and/or WeChat. Do you use a Google Meet or MS Teams or Skype or Zoom? ------------------ The above information is for your paired team members to learn about you. So, the idea is not to be too formal, but friendly and inviting. The paired team member will also post about themselves on their Design Project Blog, so you will have an opportunity to learn about them too. This activity is individual and must be carried out by all group members. Tag the post category as "Introduction" and "Designers Activities [DA]". To select a category, simply click on the box on the right side of the screen. Please uncheck the Uncategorized option. Activity 2) Develop your design team's name, logo, and banner for your project website, which should be 980 × 120 pixels. The Banner must include the following: design team logo, design team name, photos and names of all design team members. After creating, change your website banner Click customise (in the top bar) Click on the pencil (in the top left corner of the banner) Click in Chance logo Click in Upload files Click in Select files Select the image in your computer Click in Select (in the bottom right corner) Activity 3) Organize a meeting with your customers via Discord (or other online conferencing tools like Zoom, Skype, Meet, WeChat or Signal). [DA] Designers’ Activities

As designers, you will need to respond to a client design brief. You will have a chance to clarify your tasks with your clients before they finalise the briefs. You will be required to propose a design concept of an item, which is celebrating the daily… As you will be addressing issues in a different cultural context, you should use your clients’ local expertise to provide you with information in order for you as designers to successfully address the given issues. You will need to communicate your weekly work in progress to your clients so that they are able to provide you with feedback. Also, you will need to provide your clients with detailed information which they can use to construct a model/prototype.

You, as the cultural expert on your selected users’ practices will need to analyse these practices in order to guide the designers and to evaluate their progress. After you receive the design proposal from your design team, you as the client will be responsible for constructing a physical model/prototype/mock-up. It will be based on the design proposal developed by your designers and guided by your own brief and weekly feedback. Therefore, throughout the process as clients you will need to provide careful feedback and guidance to your designers. You will also be required to produce a maximum 60-second promotional video for the item and 2 boards (A2 size) providing feedback for your design collaborators.
