Design ideas

idea 1

Inspired by the grocery shopping carts of retired Chinese seniors. When you walk in the market you just pull it like a suitcase. The inside of the cart can be folded to form a table, so you can stop and sell.

idea 2

Transferring the weight of the food to the head to the ground. Wheels on the bottom assist the elderly in walking. When you need to make a sale, just use the retractable structure to put the food down.

idea 3

Modeled after the structural principles of the ancient Chinese arch. Like a teeter-totter, it transfers the force from the shoulders to the ground.

Hello! It is good to see that your ideas are built with the brief and the instructions we gave to you. I think it is an important aspect that you focus on reducing the weight the product will put on the elderly. I personally think your second idea has more potential in regards of design and solutions. I think its design needs better presentation since it should make customers more approachable to the sellers. I can’t completely understand what the idea will look like from your current drawings so I think we need some clearer sketches and explanations.
    Good Luck!

Thanks for the feedback, I’ll finish more sketches soon. At that time we can have a meeting for further explanation.

It’s great to see your ideas! I liked your first idea of a height-adjustable wheeled sales unit. Could it have a slightly larger surface area rather than making it look like a bag? What I can say about your second idea is that I think the long thin rod may become unstable while being dragged, and depending on the material choice, it may be heavy to carry. Your third idea might be good if it reduces the weight on the shoulders and does not upset the balance when food is placed on it.

Hello, thank you for the effort and thought you put into the sketches. The first idea is interesting but I think showing the food while walking is an important aspect for the sellers as they usually sell the food while walking instead of a fixed location. The second idea seems like it may work as it is an ergonomic solution. For the third idea, I couldn’t fully understand how the sellers will be able to lower the tray and also it may be an unequal distribution of weight for the shoulders.
    Thank you again!
